Facelifted Fiat 500X Crossover Price, Specs and Latest News

Fiat has revealed the facelifted version of the popular 500X SUV, and you can order it right now. The exterior welcomes a few tweaks to keep it looking fresh, and there’s now a lot more technology available to enjoy in the interior. Fiat’s crossover now starts from just £16,995 and, until 30 th September 2018, is available with 0% APR and a deposit contribution of up to £1,000.

Fiat 500X exterior design and personalisation

Styling changes aren’t drastic for this new model, but they finesse the strong presence and assured stance. As well as tweaked creases and grilles, LED lights are now available across the range. All cars now come with LED daytime running lights and taillights – keeping you visible through all conditions – and full LED headlights are fitted to Cross Plus models. They’re optional on other models. These lights are not only brighter than halogen bulbs, but consume far less energy.

You can buy the Fiat 500X crossover in two flavours: an Urban look for city slickers and Cross for adventure seekers. The latter adds protective skid plates for a more rugged appearance and a bit of extra protection if you do venture off the tarmac.

Personalisation is Fiat’s forte – the 500 was one of the first city cars that you could really make your own – and the 500X follows suit. A dazzling 14 different paint colours are available, plus seven interior style options and a choice between 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Fiat 500X technology and connectivity

With traffic sign recognition, speed advisor and lane assist fitted as standard, it’s safe to say this Fiat crossover is very well equipped! Alongside the speed limiter function, the speed advisor can automatically bring you down to the local speed limit – detected by the traffic sign recognition. Lane assist, meanwhile, will prevent unintended direction change and works between 37 and 112mph. If you want to be safer than a risk assessor wearing a hi-vis jacket, you can specify blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.

All cars now feature Fiat’s high resolution seven-inch Uconnect touchscreen, which comes as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also includes Bluetooth, USB, and AUX connection, a text reader and voice recognition. Download the Uconnect app and you’ll also have Reuters news, connected TomTom Live navigation, social media check-in options and information about your car at the tip of your finger. A rear parking camera can be fitted if you’d like.

Fiat 500X engines, performance and economy

Fiat has developed some innovative new engines, and the 500X is the first car to benefit from them. You can choose from a 120hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, or a four-cylinder 1.3-litre unit with 150hp. Both have been subjected to over 75,000 hours and three million miles in testing, and both are completely constructed from aluminium. The 1.0-litre triple weighs just 93kg. Kicking off the range, there’s also a 110hp 1.6 petrol engine which now features stop/start as standard. All engines are Euro 6D compliant and are fitted with a gasoline particulate filter.

Fiat 500X prices and specs

The entry-level Fiat 500X is the 110hp Urban model, which starts at just £16,995. City Cross cars, with 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and rear parking sensors, are priced from £18,995 for a 120hp 1.0-litre car with a six-speed manual gearbox, and you can buy top-spec Cross versions from £20,995.
