The Ford Transit Custom is the most popular van in the UK - by a huge margin! Currently, Ford sells 50% more Transit Customs than the next best-selling van, which just happens to be the larger Transit. Ford has the commercial vehicle market almost sewn up, so you know you'll have a quality product if you buy a Ford van.
Auto Trader, the largest online vehicle sales marketplace in the UK, has reviewed the new Ford Transit Custom. Safe to say, they were very impressed:
"There is good reason for the Transit Custom’s domination, as the model is a fantastic blend of practicality, durability and value."
The Transit Custom review praised various aspects of the van, from its impressive payload, enticing interior and engaging driving experience. Practicality is one of the most important considerations of a van, and the best-seller can carry a payload of up to 1,530kg or three Euro pallets. A steel bulkhead is standard on all models to reduce noise and improve insulation in the cabin, and you can even have under-seat storage to carry long loads safely in your van.
Most models come with Ford's latest SYNC 3 infotainment system to keep you entertained on the road, but even the Base model features a device dock so you can safely use your phone's mapping applications for sat nav. Even though there's plenty of kit, the materials are sturdy and durable, and there are lots of cubbies to store all your important things out of sight.
In fact, Auto Trader reported very few negatives when reviewing the van. The drawbacks reported include the firmer suspension on Sport models (but many people decide they want the extra firmness) and that many of the used vans are the entry-level model. However, that's not true of our used Transit Custom selection - ours are well-equipped, well looked after and, most importantly, well priced.
Reliability is likely to be one of your top priorities if you are after a used van, so give yourself the best peace of mind by choosing a Ford Transit!
Continuing on from its Elephant in the Transit campaign, Ford has revealed a dirty van that depicts elephants on the sides and rear to raise awareness for mental health issues.
