New Dacia Duster Goes Upmarket With New Multimedia System And Engines

Have you seen the new Dacia Duster on the road yet? With its distinctive LED daytime running lights and smart new grille, it offers plenty of presence – you’ll certainly turn a few heads. The interior has been thoroughly updated and redesigned, too, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to splash out. It’s still the cheapest SUV on sale in the UK.

Dacia has included a new version of its Media Nav Evolution multimedia system, which is faster and more intuitive than ever before. The touchscreen is notably more responsive, and the processor is more powerful to make using it a piece of cake. However, the biggest change is the inclusion of smartphone mirroring, so you can connect your phone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The screen is now mounted much higher on the centre console for maximum ease, while the seats feature denser foam for increased comfort and support. Not only will you be more comfortable, but the road noise won’t be so intrusive thanks to plenty of extra sound deadening and thicker glass windows. The Duster also welcomes keyless entry and start, and is available with blind-spot warning for the first time.

Dacia has also turned their attention to the engine range, with TCe 130 and 150 engines now offered. Optimum efficiency and performance is ensured with a new aluminium engine block, improved cylinder coating and a gasoline particulate filter (GPF), making the Duster as economical as possible. The petrol engines now make 130hp and 150hp – up 5hp and 25hp respectively – and the diesels have also been upgraded.

These improvements have helped Dacia secure their best-ever half-year sales volume. Across Europe, the company now occupies a top 5 spot. If you’d like to see how the new Dacia Duster will suit your life, get down to Hartwell Dacia or book a test-drive.
