Many SUVs focus on sportiness, but Citroën knows that you’ll appreciate supreme comfort – especially after a long day at work or during stressful journeys. A range of innovations in the suspension and seating means the new C5 Aircross will easily be one of the comfiest SUVs when it reaches our dealerships later this year. Your comfort extends to the technology on offer, too, while the distinctive styling will make you smile. It certainly stands out in a car park!
The C5 Aircross will relax you and keep you at arm’s length from the stresses of the outside world. The suspension has been specifically designed to iron out any imperfections on a road surface, creating a ‘magic carpet’ ride that promises stability and calmness. Those traits are echoed with the interior in a range of ways. You sit high in the new C5 Aircross and have a commanding driving position, which allows you to see far in advance, but impressive sound deadening means that you will feel safe and insulated.
Citroën says that comfort is the ultimate goal of its new SUV. Each seat is filled with lots of foam and padding to ensure it feels soft and supportive, and a high-density type of foam is used to prevent the seat sagging or ageing prematurely. You’ll even be comfy on really long journeys. For added well-being, enjoy heated and massaging functions.
Power, strength and individuality are all evident in the design of the C5 Aircross. The broad and assertive front features Citroën’s modern two-tier full-LED light signature and wide grille. A tall bonnet, durable bumpers and roof bars all highlight the ruggedness and SUV nature, but every feature of the car has been designed to excite and stand out. The row of Airbumps will protect each side from scratches and dings, and are especially good in car park situations.
You can customise your C5 Aircross to make it stand out even more. Thirty different exterior colour combinations are available, including seven colours, the option of a contrasting black roof, colour packs and four alloy wheel designs. A glass panoramic roof is available to flood the cabin with natural light.
The C5 Aircross SUV offers a lot of space for you and up to four passengers, and it offers very clever seating solutions that make the most of the available room. For maximum rear-seat comfort, each chair can be individually reclined (in five positions up to 26.5 degrees) and adjusted to provide the required amount of legroom. If you need additional boot space, push the seats as far forward and upright as they will go. To transport larger items, the seats fold down independently and create a completely flat boot floor for carrying convenience.
A huge range of driver assistance systems and technology features are available for on-road safety, comfort and convenience. On top of inclusions such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control, you will enjoy automatic full-beam headlights, an in-built dashcam fitted into the interior mirror casing and highway assistance, which effectively allows the car to drive itself in selected situations. If you’re on the motorway, it can keep you at a certain speed and keep you in your lane, even through slight bends. Easily regain full control by pushing the button, braking or starting to turn the steering wheel.
Stay connected with the eight-inch touchscreen, which offers Apple and Android connectivity, 3D satellite navigation with real-time traffic updates and voice commands. The sat nav includes local points of interest, weather and even fuel prices. Wireless charging keeps your phone topped up, and the car will automatically call the emergency services and provide your location in the event of an incident.
Register your interest in the all-new Citroën C5 Aircross, which is due on sale in late 2018. A plug-in hybrid model, which will have a petrol engine and an electric motor, will be available next year and will offer up to 37 miles of electric-only range.
