The DS 4 is a large five-door model that offers entertaining driving as well as a practical amount of space for families. With DS becoming a stand alone brand, the company have created a completly new look on the DS 4 with a unique front end including a brand new grille and and DS Wing headlight design being the major changes.
The exterior design of the DS 4 now features LED headlamps that are not only visually impressive but also provide you with enhanced visibility during night time driving. All three specification options get the LED daytime running lights as standard alongside alloy wheels which help to reflect the sporty performance that is on offer from the dynamic engine range.
Inside, you will find air conditioning, cruise control and a multi-function steering wheel fitted across the trim range. The cabin is also full of cleverly designed storage spaces which allow you to keep personal items. A boot space of 385 litres is not the best in class but with a split/fold rear bench you can extend this when you need to move large items.
It's true that DS 4 is different, not something you've seen before. When you get into DS 4 you get the real measure of all this refinement. I'm looking at the road, and I'm also looking into the door mirror just to see the side of the car. You have the power of a coupé, exceptional body lines that make you want to take the wheel. And at the same time, we placed the emphasis on rear space, which is exceptional.
For safe manoeuvres without bumps and scuffs.the DS 4 has rear parking sensors, standard on DStyle and DSport and optional on DSign models. For further, pinpoint accuracy, front parking sensors are standard on DSport and optional on DStyle models. When you see what looks like a space with your name on it, the parking space 'gap' measurement system standard on DSport and optional on DStyle models will measure it and let you know if there's room – it takes the guesswork and the hassle out of urban parking.
The refreshed DS 4 has a new 130bhp 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo engine option added to the range for the first time. It's a good option if you are searching for lower running costs, returning up to 54mpg during combined driving. At the top of the range, the DSport model is fitted with a 197bhp 1.6-litre petrol model, inspired by the DS3 Racing car, and it will get you from 0-60mph in just over eight seconds.
Standard safety features on the DS 4 includes six airbags, electronic stability control and Isofix child seat mounting points. With top marks from the Euro NCAP crash testing you can be assured that the DS4 will protect you if you are ever involved in an accident.
