All the right equipment
The dimensions of the KA+ Active are compact, but there is a long list of equipment on offer. A 6.5-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen is included, which can pair up to your smartphone so you can control your apps while driving. There’s also a Quickclear heated windscreen, saving you the hassle of de-icing in winter, as well as rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlights. Heated front seats, automatic air conditioning and rear parking sensors are also available for optimum convenience. These features are on top of a handsome standard specification, which includes electric front windows, hill start assist and a speed limiter. You can even set the audio volume and speed limit using Ford’s MyKey software, which is great if young or inexperienced drivers get behind the wheel.
Two new engines
As the KA+ Active is Ford’s first-ever city car crossover, it’s fitting that there are two new engines to choose from. The brand-new 1.2-litre petrol is more powerful than the previous engine, and a diesel engine is available for the first time to improve the car’s long-distance cruising ability. The diesel engine is also the one to choose if you want to maximise your fuel economy, as it will be able to achieve around 65mpg.
