Group Compliance Officer and Health & Safety Manager, Oxfordshire Head Office

The role has been identified as part of the Compliance, Audit & Risk Function. To ensure Hartwell Group Policies, Procedures and processes are wholly adhered to, thus reducing exposure to risk e.g. legislative breaches, fraud, and theft. The primary focus of this position is to carry out audits in line with agreed audit procedures and report upwards to the Senior Management Team (SMT).

Responsibilities

  • To monitor Compliance Training and report on current site status, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements, including through eFiles system.
  • To manage GDPR Compliance, and support the SMT and all employees by managing, and implementing all Data Protection and Compliance strategies ensuring requirements are met.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards i.e. SM&CR , IDD
  • Involvement in design, implementation and monitoring of policies & procedures.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all developments and changes in regulatory Compliance with the ICO, FCA or other agency.
  • Responsibility for continued oversight and review of all risks faced by the business, which involves monitoring the Risk Register and ensuring all risks are correctly evaluated and mapped across the Group.
  • Assist IT in managing and co-ordinating the BCP/DR Project. Liaising with other departments.
  • Understanding of GAP & Consumer Credit – linkage to FCA Handbook.
  • Supplier Due Diligence is enacted and monitored, reported on, if necessary.
  • Act as main point of contact for GDPR as DPO.
  • Ensure “Hartwell.co.uk” Website is up to date as per legislative requirements: Modern Slavery Statement, Code of ethics.
  • Acting as the Dealership conscience and holding Group Health and Safety (H&S) meetings.
  • Monitoring and managing H&S policies including eLearning.
  • Overseeing Dealership H&S reps, and risk assessments including fire.
  • Arranging H&S programmes, for example legionella, PAT testing and waste management.
  • Main point of contact for any H&S requirements across the Group.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a data protection and compliance role.
  • Current certificate in Health & Safety preferential. [NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety]. Training will be provided if necessary.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, including email, written and presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Be approachable with a positive attitude.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes – FCA handbook.
  • Excellent attention to detail whilst complying with time constraints/deadlines.
  • Current UK driving licence.
  • Ability to manage different tasks at the same time.
