Hartwell are a leading multi-franchise retail motor group in the UK and have been trading successfully for 100 years. Operating 12 franchised dealerships across 10 locations, the company currently represents brands including Ford and Fiat.

We are seeking a Service Advisor for our Scunthorpe dealership.

Joining our team as a Service Advisor, we will show you how to:

  • Book vehicles in for servicing.
  • Manage and follow up all work in progress on customer vehicles.
  • Explain service costs and process customer payments.
  • Manage relationships with customers face to face, via email and on the telephone, including answering customer’s questions about services.
  • Administer and organise the delivery of services.
  • Maintain Manufacturer and Dealership standards.
  • Communicate with customers about vehicle problems, insurance questions, and warranty issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure repeat and return customers.
  • Approach transactions with sales-minded professionalism.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction at every step of interaction.
  • Communicate with technicians about vehicle statuses.
  • Ensure that vehicles will be ready for customers on time.
  • Act as an advocate for customers when communicating vehicle problems and needs to repair department.
  • Liaise with technicians about parts ordering to ensure requisite parts are available when vehicle repairs require them, assisting stock check.
  • Check and issue pre picked parts for technicians, plus sorting returns.
  • Sourcing and ordering additional parts for repairs and servicing through centralised part distribution or local factors.

The ideal Service Advisor will:

  • Be experienced, ideally in Vehicle Service Department, or willing to learn.
  • Have volume Main Dealer experience (ideally at least 2 years).
  • Computer skills.
  • Customer-facing skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Be resilient, self-motivated and determined.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be flexible, enthusiastic and willing to work “retail” hours.
  • Be very presentable.

Hours are on a rota system, open from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, and the role will also require cover on alternate Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm.
