It shares a lot of parts with the more expensive VW Golf, but the Leon doesn’t share its styling. If you buy SEAT’s version, you’ll enjoy the sporty aspects and dramatic body creases that come as standard. Full LED lights, dark tinted rear windows and 18-inch alloy wheels are all available, but even the entry-level Leon will mark you out as a person with excellent taste.
The Leon is full to the brim with intuitive and advanced technology. Almost all versions are equipped with an eight-inch colour touchscreen that features satellite navigation, live traffic alerts, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio and information about the car. Crank up the volume with SEAT’s outstanding sound system. Smartphone mirroring and wireless phone charging will keep you connected at all times.
Make the most of every journey with cruise control, dual-zone climate control and a speed limiter and, when you get to your destination, you can park with confidence thanks to all-round parking sensors. You can also have automatic headlights with full-beam assist, a reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, heated seats and lumbar adjustment to ensure you’re comfortable and ready at all times.
A broad range of engines ensures
that there’s a Leon for you, and the engines are designed to make the most of
the fuel you put in. The 115hp 1.6-litre diesel can even manage 70.6mpg while
boasting sufficient performance. The 2.0-litre diesel provides an exciting
amount of power – up to 184hp – and returns up to 64mpg, while the 1.4-litre
EcoTSI petrol engine is able to shut down half its engine under light throttle
to maximise your fuel economy. This engine’s spicy performance means that,
whichever Leon you choose, you’ll never have to compromise.
SEAT is the sporty brand of the VW Group, and every car gets keen, direct handling, well-weighted steering and a supportive ride. If you enjoy driving, the Leon truly is one of the best hatchbacks you can buy. Comfort or sports suspension is available, depending on your preferences, and on FR models you can choose between economy, normal or sports driving modes at the touch of a button. Sport mode improves engine response and makes the steering feel more involving.

The Leon is available in three-door SC, five-door and ST estate styles, so there’s an option for you if you need the extra space. With all five seats in place, the estate offers an enormous 587 litres of boot space – that’s 207 more than the practical five-door model, and more than the large Audi A6! If you flip the rear seats down, you’ll have a cavernous 1,470 litres to fill. As an optional extra, you can even tip the front passenger seat forward too.
