Check Your Vehicle's MOT

After a check is conducted, the past results of a vehicle’s MOT tests may include:

  • Its results (pass or fail).
  • The mileage recorded at the time of the test.
  • The location of each test.
  • Which parts/components failed to perform at a minimally satisfactory level in order to pass the MOT, and if minor problems were present within any parts.
  • The date of the next scheduled MOT.

*Under Government regulations, since 2005, you may only get results for MOT tests done in England, Scotland and/or Wales.

What you need to know:

  • You will need to provide the vehicle’s number plate/registration number.
  • You will be able to access the results immediately after the MOT Centre has recorded the test results.
  • You will need the 11-digit number from your vehicle's log book (V5C) in order to view the test location, which will be available 14 days after the test.
  • All vehicles must be taxed, even if you don't have to pay anything in that period of time; i.e. if you are exempt from tax payments because you’re disabled.
  • All the legal obligations must be met before you can drive your vehicle.
