Under the sharp new styling, the Ford Transit Connect retains its impressive versatility and carrying capability. It is ideal for mid-sized loads and packs in clever features to help you fulfil every job. A completely redesigned interior offers more comfort and many advanced technologies – it might be a commercial vehicle, but you can enjoy similar levels of refinement as a car. Could this be your next van?
The new Transit Connect’s intelligent load-through bulkhead makes carrying pipes, ladders or items of a similar length very easy. It utilises the space beneath the dual passenger seats to increase load volume and reduce wasted areas. With this feature, items up to 3m long can be fitted in the L1 short wheelbase model, or 3.4m long in the L2 longer wheelbase version. On single passenger seat versions, you can flip the seat down to improve the flexibility of the van.
Ford has a long history of excellent Transit vans, and the Connect continues that with its ability to carry two standard-sized Euro pallets – even in the shortest variant. L2 models can swallow four 8’ x 4’ sheets.
The Ford Transit Connect is available with a suite of driver assistance systems to keep you safe on the road. A speed limiter ensures you can keep within the law and local restrictions, while optional Intelligent Speed Assist helps you concentrate on the road. It combines traffic sign recognition, which detects the current speed limit, and a system that can reduce your speed to match the area’s restrictions.
At up to 50mph, Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist works to lessen the severity of incidents, or avoid them entirely. The van will warn you if it senses a potential impact and, if you don’t react, it will brake automatically. This software is also able to detect pedestrians.
Stay connected in your Connect. The SYNC 3 system combines the satellite navigation, media playback and telephone call functions onto a colour touchscreen for maximum ease of use. You can also use voice commands to control the features, so you don’t even have to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road.
