Finance Explained

At Chery, we make driving your next car simple. Explore your finance options with PCP, PCH, Hire Purchase and Conditional Sale to find the best fit for you.

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP)

Flexible car finance with choice at the end

PCP lets you drive a new Chery with lower monthly payments. You pay a deposit, make monthly payments, and then decide what to do at the end. Payments cover the car’s depreciation, not the full value.

Your agreement has three parts: a deposit, monthly payments for 2 to 4 years, and an optional balloon payment. At the end, you can pay the balloon to keep your Chery, return it, or use any equity towards a new model.

Pros

  • Lower monthly payments
  • Three options at the end
  • Access to dealer offers including 0% finance
  • Predictable costs

Cons

  • Mileage limits and excess charges
  • You do not own the car during the term
  • Wear and tear charges may apply
  • Servicing must follow guidelines

PCP works if you want lower payments, flexibility at the end, and like upgrading to a new Chery every few years.

Personal Contract Hire (PCH)

Car leasing with no ownership option

PCH is leasing a Chery for a set period with no option to buy. At the end, you simply return the car. It is popular with businesses for VAT benefits, though private drivers pay 20% VAT.

You make an initial rental equal to 3 to 12 months of payments, then pay monthly for 2 to 4 years. At the end, you return the car in good condition with all documents.

Pros

  • Lowest monthly payments available
  • No risk of depreciation
  • Servicing can be included
  • Straightforward process

Cons

  • No option to buy
  • Strict rules on mileage and condition
  • Usually for new cars only
  • Expensive to end early

PCH is ideal if you want the lowest monthly payments, enjoy driving a new Chery, and prefer not to own the car.

Hire Purchase (HP)

Simple finance leading to ownership

Hire Purchase is a straightforward way to own your Chery. You pay a deposit, make monthly payments over 1 to 4 years, and pay a small final fee. Once complete, the car is yours.

Your payments cover the full value of the car plus interest. Unlike PCP, you pay off the entire cost, not just depreciation. Ownership passes to you after the final option fee.

Pros

  • You own your Chery at the end
  • No mileage limits
  • Available on new and used cars
  • No large final payment

Cons

  • Higher monthly payments than leasing
  • Higher total interest costs
  • Not suitable if you swap cars often
  • Larger deposits may be required

HP suits drivers who want to own their Chery outright, plan to keep it long term, or cover higher mileages without restrictions.

Conditional Sale (CS)

Guaranteed ownership with no final fees

Conditional Sale is a loan designed for buying your Chery through fixed monthly payments. You own the car automatically once the payments are complete, with no final fee.

You pay a deposit, then monthly instalments covering the full value and interest. At the end, the Chery is yours with no extra steps.

Pros

  • No fees at the end
  • Flexible deposit and term options
  • No mileage or condition limits
  • Guaranteed ownership

Cons

  • Higher monthly payments than leasing
  • You cannot modify the car until fully paid
  • No option to return it

CS is ideal if you want guaranteed ownership of your Chery, no end-of-contract fees, and flexibility with deposits and terms.
